Ed Whitehouse, Administrator and COO for Sylvan Grove Hospital, has been asked to serve on the board of directors for the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta.  Ed has served five years on the board of the United Way of Butts, Clayton & Henry Counties, and now will join the Metro Atlanta board for a term through 2014.  The metro Atlanta board serves Butts, Clayton, Coweta, Cherokee, Cobb, Fayette, Fulton, Dekalb, Henry, Gwinnett, Paulding, Douglas and Rockdale Counties, and is focused on ensuring that people have the opportunity for a good life through providing the necessary building blocks of a strong community.  The agency supports over 400 programs throughout metro Atlanta, helping people every day.

Ed assumed his duties with the United Way of Metro Atlanta board in August, and stated “I look forward to working with such a distinguished board that exists with United Way of Metro Atlanta, supporting their efforts to both anticipate and address problems before they start.  I’m proud to be a part of this agency known to be focused on building a better community today and for tomorrow.”

United Way’s Board of Directors represents the best of our region’s preeminent leaders who are passionate about our community, so Ed Whitehouse is a perfect fit,” said Milton J. Through his work as a health care administrator and COO of Sylvan Grove Hospital, we’re proud of the strong, compassionate role Ed will play in this Board role.”
